ABOUT CHRIS
Chris brings five combined terms of local government experience, including time as an alternate RDN director — a proven track record as an expert in both business and government.
Chris has deep roots in Area F, having lived in both Errington and now Meadowood. For 18 years, Chris and his wife Steffany have owned and operated the Meadowood Store, employing many Area F residents alongthe way.
When he’s not working, Chris is an outdoor enthusiast and a private pilot. He can often be found relaxing at the Little Qualicum River or out on the trails on his ATV.
EXPERIENCE ON THE RECORD
✓ Former Mayor, City of Parksville — chief elected official, led council and set the city’s direction
✓ Former Councillor, City of Parksville — years of hands-on council experience before serving as Mayor
✓ Former Councillor, Town of Qualicum Beach — small town local government experience
✓ Long-time business owner & employer in Area F — 18 years owning and operating the Meadowood Store
✓ Diamond Jubilee Medal Recipient — for contributions to Canada (Local Government service)
“Proven experience. Local roots. Straight-talk representation for Area F.”
Chris’s Key Priorities for Area F
Five priorities Chris will bring to the RDN Board — built from conversations across Coombs, Hilliers, Errington, Meadowood, Whiskey Creek and the surrounding rural areas.
01 — RDN Taxation
Tax increases are out of control. I’ll use my seat on the board to strongly advocate for taxation reform and operational efficiencies that keep costs manageable for residents.
02 — Incorporation Study and OCP
03 — Emergency Services Focus
Following last year’s Wesley Ridge interface fire, I’ll work hard to strengthen emergency preparedness and response in Area F. Our communities need to be ready for whatever comes next, with the planning, resources, and support needed to keep residents safe.
04 — Rural Land Use & Water Supply
05 — Transparent Communication
We need to get Area F back on track. Proper communication is essential to do that. I’ll prioritize open, consistent communication with residents — through digital media, annual town hall meetings in multiple locations, meeting residents in their own communities, to report back and hear directly from you.
“Five priorities. One clear commitment: to serve Area F with experience, honesty, and hard work.”
